Ladies’ College vs Bishop’s College 2022
The Annual LCBC encounter that missed two years of taking place due to the pandemic finally took place on the 1st of October this year for the 16th time organized by Ladies’ College.
The U17 match ended in a draw with both schools not scoring. Thimanya Ellepola received the best defender and Pranali Britto received the best goal keeper.
The U19 match was also intense both schools fought really hard again ending in adraw, with a score of nil all. Dehara Senaratne received the best goal keeper and Dinethi Hapudeniya received the best defender showing great skill along with their young U19 team.
Ladies’ College vs Bishop’s College 2021
LC-BC was held on the 30th of April 2022 at the Astro Turf as the annual encounter couldn’t take place in 2021 due to Covid-19. The event was organized by Bishop’s College. Even though both teams played well, the Ladies’ College team was unable to score a goal whereas Bishop’s College managed to score one. BC won the match 1-0.
Kiara Benjamin of Ladies’ College won the award for the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the match.
The skills as well as the sportsmanship displayed by both the team players were much appreciated by all who came to witness this friendly encounter.
Ladies’ College vs Bishop’s College 2019
The 28th of September marked the first sports encounter for 2019 – The LC/BC Hockey encounter. As always our girls prepared with immense enthusiasm in order to put up a great fight. The team captained by Nishara Karunatilake emerged runners up with a thrilling draw in the junior match and the senior match ending with a score of 2-0 in favour of the Bishop’s College.
REGATTA
Ladies’ College vs Musaeus College 2022
The 17th Annual LC vs MC held on 8th October at Colombo Rowing Club. LC won with 36 points to 16 by MC.
Ladies’ College vs Musaeus College 2019
The much-awaited rowing regatta held on 12th October saw the Ladies’ College crew led by Captain Ashwini Subasinghe and Vice Captain Kavisha Dassanayake winning their annual encounter against arch-rivals Musaeus College with an overwhelming 52-0 points, thus regaining the coveted Marie Musaeus Higgins trophy.
Gabrielle Senanayake was adjudged the Most Outstanding Oarswoman of the Regatta.
WATER POLO
Ladies’ College vs Visakha Vidyalaya 2019
This year was unlike any other for our valiant water polo players who trained harder than ever before to reap extraordinary results. Excitement hit its peak on the 11th of October at the Sugathadasa Stadium as LC-ites of all ages decked in red and white filled the stadium.
The junior match ended in a heartbreaking 15-6 score line in favour of the Visakhians. Our senior team captained by Rheanna David emerged victorious in a fast-paced game culminating in a nail-biting finish with a score of 13-12
