We are proud of the accomplishments of our students

Jithara Warnakulasuriya represented Sri Lanka at the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship held in Odisha, India, where Sri Lanka was placed 8th Overall. She also represented Sri Lanka at the SSP 24th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championship which was held in Indonesia, where Sri Lanka was placed 15th overall and qualified to compete in the World Table Tennis Championship 2020. At the Junior Nationals Table Tennis Tournament 2018, which was played in 2019, she emerged champion in the Under 15 Singles and Under 18 Doubles Events, Runner Up in the Under 18 Mixed Doubles and was placed 3rd in the Under 18 Singles Event. She was also awarded the Most Outstanding Player (Girls) of the tournament. At the Senior Nationals Table Tennis Tournament 2018, played in 2019, she emerged Champion in the Open Women’s Doubles category.

At the All Island Inter School Table Tennis Championship Under 19 the A team was placed 3rd in the A Division. The team comprised of Anoushka de Silva, Jithara Warnakulasuriya, Ayla Chitty and Manesha Siriwardena. The team was also A Division Champions in the All Island Inter School Table Tennis Championship Under 16 which was held in 2018.

At the Western Province School Games Table Tennis Tournament 2019, the Under 20 team emerged Runners Up. The team comprised of Anoushka De Silva, Arani Cooray, Chanuli Suriarachchi, Nuwangi Gunewardena, Sethara Ambawatte and Upamali Rodrigo.

At the All Island School Games Table Tennis Championships the Under 17 team emerged Champions. The team comprised of Zeenath Hassim, Jithara Warnakulasuriya, Ayla Chitty, Shalomie Rajkumar, Manesha Siriwardena, and Ashcharya Ranatunga.

At the All Island Inter School Table Tennis Championship Under 18, the A team emerged Champions in the A division. The team comprised of Anoushka de Silva, Jithara Warnakulasuriya, Ayla chitty and Minna Hassim.

At the Junior Nationals Table Tennis Tournament 2018, played in 2019, Ayla Chitty was placed 3rd in the Under 15 Singles Event.

Minna Hassim represented Sri Lanka at the ITTF World Junior Circuit Oman Junior and Cadet Open Table Tennis Championship held in Muscat.

At the Sri Lanka Open Nationals Championship (Clay) 2019, Anika Seneviratne emerged Champion in the women’s Open Singles and Mixed Doubles events. She was also awarded the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. At the Sri Lanka Open Nationals Championship (Hard Court) 2019 she emerged Champion in the Mixed Open Doubles event.

Alana Seneviratne emerged Runners Up in the Girls Under 18 Singles category at the Sri Lanka Open Nationals (Clay) Championships 2019.

The Under 17 Tennis team comprising of Ayenka Peries, Yehali Ranasinghe, Rivinka De Silva, Manara Madanayake, Alana Seneviratne, Chavini Karunaratne, Aindri Vairavanathan, Nelumi Cooray, Michaela Jayasuriya and Indeevari De Silva emerged Champions at the All Island Public Schools Tennis Tournament 2018, which was played in the year 2019.

The Under 19 Tennis team comprising of Maneka Madanayake, Aanya Perera. Priyasha Unamboowe, Sethara Ambawatte, Rheanna David, Anika Seneviratne, Rayaca Tayabally, Arani Cooray, Saheli Hapudeniya and Sathi silva emerged Champions at the All Island Public Schools Tennis Tournament 2018, which was played in the year 2019.

The Under 17 Tennis team comprising of Nelumi Cooray, Rivinka De Silva, Aindri Vairavanathan, Michaela Jayasuriya and Nishka Samarasinghe were runners Up at the All Island National Schools Games 2019.

Anika Seneviratne and Alana Seneviratne represented Sri Lanka at the Kunming International Tennis Championship that was held in China. They retained the No. 1 Rank in the Women’s Doubles category for the year 2019. They emerged Champions in the Women’s Open doubles at the Sri Lank Open Nationals (Clay) championships 2019 and at the Sri Lanka Open Nationals (Hard Court) Championships 2019. They emerged Champions in the Girls Under 18 Doubles event at the Sri Lanka Open Nationals (Hard Court) championship 2019.

Bimanya Ratnayake and Sarisha Gunasekara represented Sri Lanka at the Waverly International Schools Netball Tournament 2019 which was held in Melbourne, Australia.

Ganya Senanayake represented the Sri Lanka Youth Netball Team at the 11th Asian Youth Netball Championships which was held in Japan where they won a bronze Medal.

Erandi de Silva represented Sri Lanka at the World Schools Debating Championships 2019 held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Reiha Wimalasekera represented Sri Lanka at the 1st Asian Schools British Parliamentary Debate Open 2018 that was held in Bangkok, Thailand.

At the Sri Lanka Schools Netball Championships 2019 the Under 19 team emerged Runners Up at the Colombo District tournament and 3rd Runner Up at the All Island Championship held in Kurunegala. The team comprised of Sarisha Gunasekara, Nuwangi Gunewardane, Melani De Zoysa, Bimanya Ratnayake, Ganya Senanayake, Raisah Noorhamith, Dilumi Hemasinghe, Nayali Karunathilake, Ovidini Daluwatte, Anika Seneviratne, Sulani de Silva and Aanya Perera (absent).

The Under 18 team emerged Runners Up at the Western Province School Games and went on to become Champions at the All Island School Games. This is the first time that a netball team of Ladies’ Collge has won a championship. The team comprised of Sarisha Gunasekara, Nuwangi Gunewardane, Alana Seneviratne, Bimanya Ratnayake, Ganya Senanayake, Raisah Noorhamith, Nelumi Cooray, Ovidini Daluwatte, Anika Seneviratne, Sulani De Silva and Nethroo Balasuriya.

Dinasha Hewagama represented Sri Lanka at the Asian Age Group Aquatic Championships 2019 held in India. She (Under 18) was placed 1st in the 50M and 100M backstroke events at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet. She was placed 1st with New Meet Records in the 200M, 100m and 50M backstroke events at the National Age Group Swimming Championships 2019. At the SLASA All Island Swimming Championships 2019 she was placed 2nd in the 50M, 100M and 200M Backstroke events. She was placed 3rd in the 100M Backstroke event at the Senior Nationals Short Course Championships 2019.

Tricia De Rose was placed 2nd in the Under 16 200M Backstroke event and 3rd in the 100M Backstroke and 200M Individual Medley events at the National Age Group Swimming Championship 2019. She was placed 1st in the 100M fly at the SLASA All Island Swimming Championship 2019.

Shiyanka De Silva (Under 20) was placed 1st in the 100M Freestyle event at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet. At the National Age Group Swimming Championships 2019 she was placed 3rd in the 50M and 100M Freestyle events. She was placed 3rd in the 50M Freestyle event and 2nd in the 100M Freestyle event at the SLASA All Island Swimming Championships 2019.

Rivinka De Silva was placed 3rd in the Under 18 50M Freestyle event at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet, 2nd in the 50M Freestyle event at the National Age group Swimming Championship 2019, and 3rd in the 50M and 100M Freestyle events at the SLASA All Island Swimming Championships 2019.

Rheanna David, Rivinka De Silva, Dinasha Hewagama and Talisha Yogendranathan were placed 3rd in the Under 18 4 x 100M Freestyle Relay at the Sri Lanka Schools Swimming Meet 2019, and 3rd in the Under 18 4 x 50M Medley Relay at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet.

At the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet 2019, the Under 18 4 x 50M freestyle Relay team was placed 2nd. The team comprised of Kesara Gunawadena, Rheanna David, Dinasha Hewagama and Talisha Yogendranathan.

Shakyna Dassenaike, Hiruni Siriwardena, Asini Molligoda and Shiyanka De Silva were placed 2nd in the Under 20 4 x 50M Medley Relay at the Western Province Swimming Meet.

Shiyanka De Silva, Hiruni Siriwardena, Asini Molligoda and Shakya Gomes were placed 3rd in the Under 20 4 x 50M Freestyle Relay at the Western Province Swimming Meet.

At the Junior Nationals Championship 2019 Tiani Goonewardene, Kiara Benjamin, Sulani De Silva and Akeesha Rishan were placed 3rd in the Under 21 Women’s Category.

Avani Amarasinghe, Tanita Goonetilleke, Kiara Kumaranayagam, Ashivini Subasinghe, Anithra Fernando, Anya Dewapura, Nihara Chandrasena, Gabrielle Senanayake, Chiara Wijetilleke, Janindri Fernando and Keshya Varia were awarded Gold Medals at the Rowing Nationals 2019.

Shakyna Dassenaike was placed 2nd in the 50M Breast Stroke event and 3rd in the 100M Breast Stroke event in the Under 20 Category at the Western Province Swimming Meet 2019.

Gagani Kumarasinghe represented Sri Lanka as a swimming athlete, selected by the Special Olympics Serendib (Sri Lanka) in March 2019, at the Special Olympic World Games.

Shanessa Shanmugalingam, Talisha Yogendranathan, Rheanna David (Captain – Sri Lanka Team) and Sulani De Silva (Vice Captain – Sri Lanka Team) represented Sri Lanka at the Asian Age Group Aquatic Championships 2019 which were held in India.

Rivinka De Silva, Shiyanka De Silva and Tharini Perera were selected to represent Sri Lanka at the Junior World Aquatic Championship 2018.

In the Under 16 Category, Maithri Pieris was placed 1st in the 100M Hurdles at the Western Province Athletic Meet. She was placed 2nd in High Jump and 1st in the 100M Hurdles at the Senior Tarbot Athletic Meet.

Siyana Wickremesinghe was placed 3rd in the 200M event in the Under 18 Category at the Senior Tarbot Athletic Meet.

Anika Ratnayake and Renata Melvani were placed 2nd in the Duet at the National Age Group Artistic Swimming Championship 2019 and represented Sri Lanka at the Asian Age Group Artistic Swimming Championship in India 2019.

In the Under 16 Category, Kiyasha Kurukulasuriya was placed 1st in the Shot- Put event and 2nd in the Discus event at the Western Province Athletics Meet. At the Senior Tarbot Athletic Meet, she was placed 3rd in the Shot-Put event and 2nd in the Discus event.

Sarisha Gunasekara was placed 2nd in the Shot Put and Discus events at the Senior Tarbot Athletic Meet.

Rheanna David was placed 2nd in the Shot Put event at the Western Province Athletic Meet and 3rd in the Shot Put event at the Senior Tarbot Athletic Meet.

The Under 17 Basketball Team emerged runners Up at the Sri Lanka Schools Under 17 ‘A’ Division Basketball Championship 2019, organized by Sri Lanka School Basketball Association. The team comprised of Shearya Rajapakse, Sareesha Mapagunaratne, Jovanna Fernando, Sabira Sinan, Amaya Devasagayam, Dewdhinie Daluwatte, Taliya De Fonseka, Tamalee Ratnayake , Alisha Devasagayam, Kiandra Benjamin, Ashika Ambawatte and Janani Jayasekara (absent).

Jovanna Fernando was awarded ‘Best Offensive Player’ at the Sri Lanka Schools Under 17 ‘A’ Division Basketball Championship 2019.

Anaisha Choksy was awarded a Gold medal for Board Prize at the ‘Battle of the Kings’ All Island Schools Chess Tournament 2019, which was organized by the Chess Club of Royal College. She was placed 1st at the Sri Lanka Schools Individual Tournament (Colombo District) and qualified for the Sri Lanka Schools All Island Individual (Finals) Tournament. She also qualified to play at the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2019 held in Sri Lanka. She represented Sri Lanka schools at the World Schools Chess Championship 2019 held in Turkey.

Sareesha Mapagunaratne was selected to represent the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball team in the 52nd Senior Nationals Basketball Championship where the team emerged as the 2nd Runner Up.

Shenaya Siriwardena represented Sri Lanka at the 26th Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship held in Macau, China.

Sahani de Silva emerged winner of the Brain Busters with SLIIT – Season 1, which was conducted by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT)

Zainab Hamid was awarded a High Achievement Award – Top in the World for Sociology at the Cambridge International Examination held in July 2019.

Tharuka Ferdinands was a High Achiever at the Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level Examinations held in 2019.

Dinara Abeynayaka was a High Achiever at the Pearson BTEC in Business Course in 2019.

Arrenga Nadarajah was a High Achiever at the Pearson BTEC in Hospitality Course in 2019.

Vinoka Pedris was a High Achiever at the Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level Examinations held in 2019.

Dulani Hannadige was awarded a High Achievement Award – Top in Sri Lanka for Psychology at the Cambridge International Examination held in November 2018.

Haleema Rassool was awarded High Achievement Awards – Top in Sri Lanka for English Literature and Sociology at the Cambridge International Examinations held in June 2019.

Sheriah Peries was awarded High Achievement Awards – Top in Sri Lanka for History and Global Perspectives & Research at the Cambridge International Examinations held in June 2019.

Shanya Sadanandan was awarded a High Achievement Award – Top in Sri Lanka for History at the Cambridge International Examinations held in June 2019.

The Under 18 team emerged Runners Up at the Western Province School Games and went on to become Champions at the All Island School Games. This is the first time that a netball team of Ladies’ Collge has won a championship. The team comprised of Sarisha Gunasekara, Nuwangi Gunewardane, Alana Seneviratne, Bimanya Ratnayake, Ganya Senanayake, Raisah Noorhamith, Nelumi Cooray, Ovidini Daluwatte, Anika Seneviratne, Sulani De Silva and Nethroo Balasuriya.

Dinasha Hewagama represented Sri Lanka at the Asian Age Group Aquatic Championships 2019 held in India. She (Under 18) was placed 1st in the 50M and 100M backstroke events at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet. Shiyanka De Silva (Under 20) was placed 1st in the 100M Freestyle event at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet. At the National Age Group Swimming Championships 2019 she was placed 3rd in the 50M and 100M Freestyle events. She was placed 3rd in the 50M Freestyle event and 2nd in the 100M Freestyle event at the SLASA All Island Swimming Championships 2019.

Rivinka De Silva was placed 3rd in the Under 18 50M Freestyle event at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet, 2nd in the 50M Freestyle event at the National Age group Swimming Championship 2019, and 3rd in the 50M and 100M Freestyle events at the SLASA All Island Swimming Championships 2019.

Rheanna David, Rivinka De Silva, Dinasha Hewagama and Talisha Yogendranathan were placed 3rd in the Under 18 4 x 100M Freestyle Relay at the Sri Lanka Schools Swimming Meet 2019, and 3rd in the Under 18 4 x 50M Medley Relay at the Jathika Pasal Swimming Meet.

Jovanna Fernando was awarded ‘Best Offensive Player’ at the Sri Lanka Schools Under 17 ‘A’ Division Basketball Championship 2019.

Anaisha Choksy was awarded a Gold medal for Board Prize at the ‘Battle of the Kings’ All Island Schools Chess Tournament 2019, which was organized by the Chess Club of Royal College. She was placed 1st at the Sri Lanka Schools Individual Tournament (Colombo District) and qualified for the Sri Lanka Schools All Island Individual (Finals) Tournament. She also qualified to play at the Asian Youth Chess Championship 2019 held in Sri Lanka. She represented Sri Lanka schools at the World Schools Chess Championship 2019 held in Turkey.

Sareesha Mapagunaratne was selected to represent the Sri Lanka Schools Basketball team in the 52nd Senior Nationals Basketball Championship where the team emerged as the 2nd Runner Up.

Shenaya Siriwardena represented Sri Lanka at the 26th Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship held in Macau, China.

Sahani de Silva emerged winner of the Brain Busters with SLIIT – Season 1, which was conducted by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT)

Zainab Hamid was awarded a High Achievement Award – Top in the World for Sociology at the Cambridge International Examination held in July 2019.

Tharuka Ferdinands was a High Achiever at the Pearson Edexcel International Advanced Level Examinations held in 2019.

Dinara Abeynayaka was a High Achiever at the Pearson BTEC in Business Course in 2019.

Arrenga Nadarajah was a High Achiever at the Pearson BTEC in Hospitality Course in 2019.
